The south-eastern US state of Florida, is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Gulf of Mexico to the west. The climate ranges from sub-tropical to tropical, and Florida boasts attractions such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, the mangroves at Everglades National Park, the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral and, of course, the eponymous Miami Beach.

The south-eastern region, home to Fort Lauderdale, the Palm Beaches, Florida Keys and Miami, exudes warmth, luxury and a Latin vibe. Meanwhile, the Caribbean is enticingly close, with the Bahamas a mere 80 km from Florida’s south-eastern tip making the south-east an ideal jumping-off point for a cruise. At the core of Florida is Orlando, a veritable mecca for theme parks and adventure, at Lake Buena Vista it’s all about Disney, featuring Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center. In greater Orlando, there’s Universal Studios Florida, comprising its Islands of Adventure, CityWalk dining, shopping and entertainment, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. And if all of this isn’t enough, the ‘Sunshine State’ of Florida gives visitors numerous opportunities for boating, fishing, snorkelling, hiking and camping as well as art festivals and fine dining.
